Ilya K Hi! Just so you know. I have received answers from Akito on questions that I have written to you before. If both disks in RAID 1 work properly and I just take out one disk from RAID 1 and plug it to another computer, will I have access to the data?

- No, the drives must stay in our enclosure because it was set-up as a RAID with our enclosure's RAID chip. Moving the drives to a different housing will result in possible data loss and corruption. If one disk in RAID 1 is defective, will I have access to data from NT2 U31C? Or I will have access only after replacing the faulty disk? - You will still have access to the data, but speeds may be low.
If one disk in RAID 1 is defective, will I have access to data if I plug only the healthy disk (in another enclosure) to another computer? - Just like answer 1, you cannot move the drives to a different housing. If one disk in RAID 1 is defective and I want to replace the faulty drive, could I use not the same type of disk, but only the same capacity?
- It is recommended that you use the same exact model and capacity, but using a drive with the same exact capacity will work as well. And one more: If I don't have access to the data when the remove the disk from the enclosure, how can I get access to the data If enclosure breaks and I don't have ability to buy new the same enclosure? What will I have to do to get access to the data? - Unfortunately, you will have to somehow get the same enclosure. Taking all these answers and especially considering the fact that I will lose all data if the enclosure breaks, I came to the conclusion not to buy this enclosure. Can you advise please an inexpensive enclosure without such problems, but with a similar specification?
